Seventh Generation Disinfecting Wipes Review

Last week I received a package of household products made by Seventh Generation in the mail, in exchange for my review of these products. I was not paid to provide this product review.

Here is my Seventh Generation Disinfecting Wipes Review. These are household cleaning wipes and there was only one wipe in this sample pack, it was Lemongrass & Thyme scent. What disappointed me most about these wipes is the EWG rating. These are rated grade D by EWG. I know that Lysol Wipes are far worse, and these are a more natural version, however I feel they could have tried to include healthier ingredients. The wipe was used for spot-cleaning my bathroom, and didn't leave any residue behind on the counter or tap surface. Thymol oil is the disinfecting ingredient of these wipes, ad even though it is only 0.05% of the product ingredient it packs a punch. Seventh Generation claims that these wipes kill Influenza A virus thanks to this botanical ingredient. If these wipes do kills 99.99% of germs using Thymol Oil then maybe they are worth the trade off of a Grade D rating, however I prefer to use something a little less toxic for everyday cleaning around my home. If you are interested in buying these wipes online, click here and use iHerb coupon code WAC948 to save you up to $10 off your first purchase + free shipping in the US over $20:

Seventh Generation Free and Clear Diapers, Size 4

Last week I was blessed to receive a package of Seventh Generation baby supplies in the mail, in exchange for a review of their products. The package included: Free and Clear Diapers, sizes 4 and 5. My almost 15 month old is still using size 4 diapers, and here is my take on these ones. Size 4 diapers are rated for 27 to 37 lb babies. These diapers have a thin profile which makes it easy to tell when the diaper is wet or soiled. I find they are absorbent enough for overnight use with my baby. They fit true to size. We like that there is no scent added to the diaper. What I don't like about these diapers is that Seventh Generation dyes them brown. I wonder why they felt the urge to do so? You can buy these online by clicking on this link, and use iHerb coupon code WAC948 to save $5-10 off your first purchase:

Teavivre review

Many thanks to Angel from Teavivre for sending me this huge bag of samples in exchange for my unbiased reviews.

Inside this sealed zip bag were all of these samples - I was pleasantly surprised!

The varieties inside my bag included: Jasmine "Dragon Pears" Green Tea, Superfine Jasmine Downy Dragon Pearls Green Tea, Organic Silver Needle White Tea (Bai Hao Yin Zhen), Anxi Superfine Tie Guan Yin "Iron Goddess" Oolong Tea, Organic Superfine Dragon Well Long Jing Green Tea, and Golden Monkey Black Tea. Each sample was so fresh as each individual bag was sealed for freshness as well.

So far I have tried the Superfine Jasmine Downy Dragon Pearls Green Tea, Organic Superfine Dragon Well Long Jing Green Tea, and Golden Monkey Black Tea.

I will start with my review of the  Superfine Jasmine Downy Dragon Pearls Green Tea.

Inside the bag were little hand rolled balls of green and white tea leaves, with the aroma of light jasmine perfume. I heated my water to 80 degrees Celsius as recommended and steeped for 2 minutes. This is a wonderful, pleasant jasmine green tea. The jasmine is very light and natural, not perfume - like. There is no bitter aftertaste with this brand, just a buttery taste that lingers without being overpowering as some jasmines can be. This one will become part of my daily ritual as it has a meditative effect for me. Although it contains caffeine it does not make me jittery in any way, even after several cups. The best part about Teavivre is that the price is much better than other brands without comprising the quality. I prefer this one hands down to the David's Tea version, and the price of this one is 1/3 of David's Tea. Excellent quality for an excellent price. Visit the website at www.teavivre.com International shipping is free with any purchase over $40 as well, plus you receive free samples with your purchase.

The following morning I tried the Golden Monkey Black Tea, I steeped according to directions for 1-2 minutes and then added a small amount of milk and sugar to my taste. This is a light black tea but it is nice to accompany breakfast. Although I enjoyed the taste of this one, it was different than my usual breakfast teas. This tasted fresh and clean, and did not leave a sticky feeling in my mouth, it went down smoothly. However, I prefer a strong cup of breakfast tea so think I will try a different black tea next time.

Later in the day I sampled the Organic Superfine Dragon Well Long Jing Green Tea. This is picked between March 10-20th, and is a very green immature tasting green tea. It is spring like and reminds me of crisp green peas! This was brewed with 80 degree Celsius water as well for 2 minutes. It got stronger as it steeped and I think I would have liked it better had it been steeped for 1 minute. This green tea has caffeine but is not overpowering. I have not tried a Long Jing Green Tea before and I think this will grow on me over time.

All in all, I still like Jasmine Dragon Pearl Green tea best of the samples I have tried so far. Check out Teavivre for all your tea needs! They even have cute accessories to accompany tea time!

Review Harney & Sons Tea

Harney & Sons Tea was kind enough to send me 20 tea bags in exchange to review their tea! Here I will review their tea and explain how you can save when you purchase through iHerb and use coupon code WAC948. What a great opportunity! I did not expect 20 different tea bags to arrive at my door, how generous of them.

The sample pack included a wide variety of green and black teas. So far I have tried the Organic Bangkok, Organic English Breakfast and Jasmine Dragon Pearl tea bags. These tea bags are nice single silken sachets, that allow for the loose tea inside to mix well with the water, and therefore get superior flavor extraction.

The Organic English Breakfast brewed to a nice robust cup of tea, and I dolled it up with one raw sugar cube and some half and half cream. It was lovely and I wished that I had more bags to brew another cup to go along with my breakfast!

The Organic Bangkok blend was next. It has a base of organic green tea and has a thai inspired infusion of lemongrass, ginger, vanilla and coconut! Reminds me of thai cooking. It has a wonderful aroma that filled the kitchen. It was perfectly sweet and not bitter. The coconut and vanilla mingle with the green tea and the lemongrass and ginger stay on the palette after you swallow it. I really, really liked this variety. I understand this comes in iced tea sized bags as well and will definitely be trying this one. My go to green tea with lemongrass is normally Tazo Zen but this was way nicer and was more complex without being over the top. Organic Bangkok is one you make when your best friend comes over for the afternoon to chat, and hang out. Perfect over conversation.

The Jasmine Dragon Pearl was the last I tried before writing this review. It contains the nice little handrolled pearls of green tea, again within the silken sachet. I'm not certain about the pearls being within the silken sachet and if this limits the tea from unfurling. I haven't had dragon pearls in a bag previously. It was tasty and fragrant with jasmine, but I preferred the loose David's tea version to this one. Although, from a price point this is much better cost wise than the David's tea. If you drink a fair amount of dragon pearl tea then maybe this is for you. I know iHerb.com sells it for $10.99 for 20 tea bags which is really reasonable.

Lastly Harney & Sons sent a lovely catalogue with mega information about where their teas are sourced from and contained wonderful photos from around the world of tea growing. The company works hard on trying to be as organic as possible, and is proud of their product.

So lastly, how to save when you buy Harney & Sons. If you want to try their teas you can shop from any country in the world at iHerb.com. They have 50 different products from Harney & Sons, including these varieties I have reviewed. If you use coupon code WAC948 you will save up to $10 on your first purchase, and most times shipping is free or extremely discounted at $4 flat rate. Click here to check it out: http://www.iherb.com/harney-sons/teas-herbal?rcode=wac948

Also, don't forget to add a freebie to your cart with each order. Next up I will be trying the infamous Paris Tea which is a bestseller for Harney at iherb.com.
